Bruno Mars Concert Poster (travel poster project)

PROJECT 1

Bruno Mars Moonshine Jungle Tour goes to Vegas!

The goal of this project was to create a travel poster. We had to choose a place and make a poster for it. We had to choose something from that place that we think would sell. We were also allowed to change it up a bit and choose a concert. The catch was, you had to choose a place where the concert would be and sell to the kind of people in that place. So, I happen to be going to a Bruno Mars concert that night and was really inspired from his music. Therefor, I decided to do Bruno Mars' concert. The tricky part was finding a place that he would be in that I would want to make my poster for. I looked at all the places his concert would be and decided to go with Las Vegas. It seems like a really cool place. So originally I had a whole different idea. The poster was the concert information in bright colors on scaffolding in the desert. It was a really great idea but when I actually did it, it was much harder than I thought. After trying it out a few times I realized that it wasnt going to turn out nice. So I scratched that whole idea. For try #2 I made a black and white single version of the official picture. 

Then when we went through critique there was a suggestion I put color into my poster, and so I did. Because Las Vegas is colorful and you want to catch their attention and make them look at the poster. So this was my final poster in the end.

For my morning class I had to do a painting. The painting was not allowed to have words. So I really had to come up with a whole new idea but for the same concept. In the end, I chose a famous spot in Las Vegas to put in my painting- thanks to the help of my teacher. I chose Ceasars Palace in Vegas. Instead of Ceasar standing there I put Bruno and made him much larger so that he is the center of attention.
